EDUCATIONAL SERVICES:
The IPOANS Speaker Series is an opportunity for members to hear the latest information on subjects of interest to investment property owners & managers provided by experts in their fields. This series also provides an opportunity for members to exchange views and learn from each other in an informal setting of peers. The series runs from September to April about once every 6 weeks.
Certified Training Programs are offered on Property Management throughout the year in response to demand from our members.

Rental Property Forms - In response to the special needs of apartment owners, a number of forms have been prepared and are for sale to members at minimal cost. These include

Free Advice - Members can contact the Association Office and ask advice on property management, residential tenancies, board matters, and legal points. Most questions can be answered promptly and effectively by the Executive Director who has considerable experience in the industry. MEMBERSHIP ADVOCACY
Government Relations - The Association is in continual contact with Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations and monitors relevant industry issues including changes to the Residential Tenancies Act, Municipal Affairs and Department of Community Services.
IPOANS Call to Action - Is an initiative in response to the proposed tax rate changes by the Halifax Regional Municipality which would see a significant increase in the tax burden of Investment Property Owners. IPOANS has established a fund to finance our opposition to these changes. Contributions to this fund have been received from members and non members and a strategy is in development.
