IPOANS is an organization dedicated to representing the interests of private residential property owners in the province and providing members with services of substantial benefit.
The Association has established itself as the "voice" of rental property owners in Nova Scotia. IPOANS has come to be recognized by government, the news media and the public at large as a responsible, credible representative in matters affecting residential rental property in the province. The Association has developed working committees to deal with issues of Municipal and Provincial concerns. The residential Tenanciesw Board provides IPOANS with all decisions heard on rent arrears, damages, security deposits and other decisions from the Government's own records.
IPOANS has established communications with various government departments. When changes are being considered to Acts, such as the Residential Tenancy Act, IPOANS is invited to have input before changes are proposed. The discussion papers are circulated throughout our membership which has expertise in these areas. The feedback ensures our industry concerns are heard.
